Growing up with my big brother in small-town Northern California presented an abundance of opportunities to connect with nature.  Early childhood memories subsist of donning full camouflage attire while lugging our dad’s “army food” and metal canteens packed in canvas knapsacks.  With our pale faces covered in camo paint, we aimlessly hiked for endless summer days through the Siskiyou mountains in search of Bigfoot without a care in the world.  Outdoor adventure was part of our daily life, and even though we didn’t have much, I wouldn’t trade my childhood for anyone else’s.  Nowadays, modern society pushes us to keep up with the demands of career and family, leaving little time to relax and pursue our creative interests.
